Ailish Brennan is a Policy Analyst and Campaigner with the Sustainable Finance Team at Harm Reduction International.
Ailish is a harm reductionist and drug policy activist with 7 years experience in the field. She has specifically focused on the intersection of drug policies with young people, women, and the LGBTQ+ community. Her recent work has included supporting trans and other queer refugees in Europe, as well as advocating for the rights of women and young people who use drugs.
Ailish has held a number of roles within HRI, most recently as the Medical Lead on the Harm Reduction International Conference 2025 (HR25) Conference in Bogotá, Colombia.
She has previously worked for Youth RISE and the Women and Harm Reduction International Network. On the local level, she has volunteered with FixPunkt in Berlin, particularly focusing on their SONAR Safer Nightlife Project.
Ailish holds a BA in Politics, International Relations, and Economics from University College Dublin, where she initially began her research on the war on drugs, and work in harm reduction.
