Fund Our Work

Our work would not be possible without the support of our donors and partners.

Our global monitoring of harm reduction, the death penalty for drug offences, and the funding landscape for harm reduction has transformed our collective ability to hold governments and donors to account. It has shaped the way we use data to advance advocacy in the drug policy reform sector.

We are proud hosts of the Harm Reduction International Conference, with a track record of convening the movement since 1990. The conference catalyses reform and shines a light on national and international harm reduction issues.

Partnering with us

Our work to develop across critical areas of governance, finance and partnerships make us a strong funding and implementing partner:

robust financial management

We are committed to ongoing work on our governance and oversight systems, financial management and sustainability, and fostering a supportive work environment for people and partners. Together these elements ensure our funding is used transparently, efficiently and effectively, to achieve the greatest impact.

We have a track record of robust financial management, achieving value for money, and working with partners around the world to advance our strategic objectives. We have the capacity, documents and policies in place to support good practices in sub-granting. We are committed to reflecting on power dynamics within our partnerships, and structurally (re)balancing power through our work.

convening, facilitating and hosting events

Building on our three decades of experience hosting the Harm Reduction International Conference, we have expertise in convening, facilitating and hosting events. Our events work includes:

Hosting a Handover Dialogue

with incoming and outgoing UN Special Rapporteurs on the Right to Health, in partnership with the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex

convening a high level judicial meeting

with judges from Indonesia and the region in partnership with LBH Masyarakat

Constellations

Constellations: An Online Festival of Drugs and Harm Reduction

Rolling out the International Guidelines on Human Rights and Drug Policy

supporting the International Centre on Human Rights and Drug Policy to implement regional dialogues in Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe and Central Asia

working with networks to amplify impact

We work with networks to amplify impact. Harm Reduction International is currently the host of the Lawyering on the Margins Network, the South Asia Middle East Network (focused on the death penalty and criminal legal systems), and the Stimulant Expert Group.

We are active members and collaborators within the Robert Carr Harm Reduction Consortium, the Robert Carr Prison Health and Rights Consortium, the Global Fund Advocates Network, the Geneva Global Health Hub (G2H2), and the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty.
