Suchitra Rajagopalan is the Communications Lead at Harm Reduction International (HRI). She specialises in designing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that shift public opinion and advance global advocacy goals.
At HRI, Suchitra leads on communications to support HRI’s advocacy and convening goals, including campaigns across earned, owned and paid digital media. In addition to media work, she also manages multimedia projects, email marketing, and strategic partnerships with influencers and thoughts leaders to amplify HRI’s mission. Notably, she conceptualised and spearheaded HRI’s innovative influencer engagement strategy at the Harm Reduction International Conference 2025 in Bogotá, Colombia, pioneering new ways to bridge the gap between grassroots advocacy and digital audiences.
Suchitra has been deeply involved in the development of HRI’s work to promote racial justice and expose the colonial roots of the current drug control system. She has played a key role in shaping communications on the impact of punitive drug policies and in connecting HRI’s call for the redirection of funding to broader social justice movements.
Prior to joining HRI, Suchitra served as the Research Coordinator at the Drug Policy Alliance in New York, USA and worked with the Lawyers Collective in Mumbai, India.

Suchitra received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Law from Sciences Po Paris.
